Presenting Foreign Trade Certificates to German Employers

You can apply while recognition is still in progress. The wording on your papers and CV still needs care.

German employers in construction often understand foreign pathways, especially when labour is scarce. Confusion usually comes from unclear document names, not from the craft itself.

Keep the original certificate title visible. Add a short English or German explanation of what the training covered and how long it lasted.

Separate formal recognition (Anerkennung) from job applications. Some roles require recognition; many site positions weigh proven experience heavily while papers move through authorities.

List safety training with dates. First-aid, scaffolding, or electrical safety cards are easy for employers to verify and easy for you to forget to mention.
